Norfolk-Plainville-Wrentham-Franklin Chapter

About Us
Norfolk - 2007 RallyWelcome to the city of Franklin, the newest addition to our Chapter!

Why Four Towns?
The Chapter comprises membership from four towns - Norfolk, Plainville, Wrentham, and Franklin.  Three towns share the King Philip school district for grades 7-12 and are represented by Representative Richard Ross.  All four towns are represented by Senator Scott Brown.

By working together, we will accomplish more.

Our Focus:  Learn - Share - Advocate
Our efforts are aimed at learning about the issues, sharing the knowledge and advocating for change.

Help us grow our membership!  Join today to:

  • make our voice stronger on behalf of the children in Norfolk, Plainville, Wrentham, King Philip, and Franklin,
  • help develop our annual local agenda,
  • determine how Stand for Children will be involved in what is shaping up to be a difficult budget year for all five school districts
  • get email updates and action opportunities to advocate for Massachusetts' children.

Your membership dues will help us continue pressing state and local governments to deliver on their responsibilities to children. Join us now by clicking here

Be part of our Strategy Team!
We are in the process of organizing our Chapter structure and there are many opportunities, large and small, if you would like to be more involved. Contact Ross Gilleland at ross@stand.org with questions or attend any of our Strategy Team meetings.

We are especially looking for leaders in Plainville and Wrentham.

Support the Statewide Campaign
Norfolk Chapter members are working to support Stand's 2007 statewide campaign goals.

  • Special Education Transportation and Circuit Breaker Relief
  • Municipal Partnership Act
  • Education Foundation Reform
    SB 291, 7010-0005 Chapter 70 Adequacy Study

Grants Clearinghouse
Our members monitor available education grants and inform potential grantees of these opportunities.

Form Partnerships with Elected Officials
A key to our success is partnerships with our elected officials at the federal, state, and local levels.

Form Partnerships with School Administrations
We are forming key relationships with the superintendents, principals, and school committees.  Three of our members have become elected to school committees!

King Philip Area Caucus
We are striving to build membership from Norfolk, Plainville, and Wrentham in order to better leverage our efforts. These three towns share both the King Philip Regional School District for grades 7-12, as well as the same two representatives in the state legislature.

Real change for children is not going to happen until we, as citizens and voters, insist that our elected officials make children and schools a top political priority.  Join us today!
