Where Do Children Stand?

Today, for the first time in our nation's history, the next generation will likely fare worse than their parents - unless we intervene. Global competition and automation have led to the loss of tens of millions of U.S. jobs in the past generation. For children to succeed in today's fast changing world, we must equip them to be proficient in core academic subjects, effective communicators and team players, and capable of learning quickly.

Our Mission

Stand for Children’s mission is to use the power of grassroots action to help all children get the excellent public education and strong support they need to thrive.

The First of Many Victories for Arizona Children

On March 9, Stand for Children achieved a major win: the passage of critically important overrides in Kyrene and Phoenix Union school districts. Stand for Children members spent five rallying 4,800 voters to approve these measures. In Kyrene, the $12.5 million override will preserve reading intervention programs, music, PE, and art, and keep class sizes reasonable. In Phoenix Union, the $4.5 million override will preserve guidance counselors and extra-curricular programs, and maintain current class sizes.
