About Issaquah Stand for Children
Over 50 parents and community members joined us Thursday, June 26, 2008 for our Issaquah Chapter kick-off, the second chapter to kickoff in Washington.
The Issaquah Chapter helped play a lead role in securing the first update to the definition of "Basic Education" in the state of Washington in 30 years and helped Stand for Children lay the groundwork for improving teacher quality statewide. Read more about our recent successes!
The Olympia Coalition
The Issaquah Chapter of Stand for Children is excited to be a part of the Olympia Coalition, a group of education stakeholders from all over the district, including representatives from Issaquah PTSA, Issaquah School Board, Issaquah Education Association, and Issaquah School District.
This group convenes to work collaboratively on issues that will improve the quality of education in Issaquah when there is agreement within the group. The coalition will be working together on the three upcoming 2010 levies, as well as monitoring the progress of HB 1776, a levy rollback bill that would bring the Issaquah School District an additional $3 million.
