Day on the Hill - April 15, 2008
On April 15, 450 education advocates from 60 communities came together to fill Gardner Auditorium. Advocates from the Cape to the Berkshires joined as one voice to ask 82 Legislators and Aides directly for their help in bringing much needed relief, reform, and innovation to our public schools.

We are grateful to the hundreds of you who have given this campaign its momentum, and to our partners on Beacon Hill and beyond. You've made your voices count, and you've already made political headway for education.

We heard from many of you how powerful the experience was:
“I found the program energizing and inspiring and I was reminded just how much the need truly varies throughout the state. This really IS a statewide issue.”
"Meeting with Legislators face to face in their offices changes my perspective about how advocacy works.”
“It was valuable to feel and recognize that we in are not alone in my town. There are people and organizations like Stand that understand the challenges and advocate on behalf of our children.”
Special thanks to our Host of Day on the Hill, Representative Robert De Leo, Chair of the House Committee on Ways and Means.
We also warmly thank the Stand members from 60 communities that made the day a success, along with our Day on the Hill Collaborating Partners:
- Alliance for the Education of the Whole Child
Massachusetts Coalition for Equitable Education
