Oregon Political Action Committee
The Stakes are High for Oregon’s Kids
In 2010, Oregon will elect a new Governor for the first time in 8 years. The State Superintendent of Public Instruction is up for re-election. Every member of the Oregon House of Representatives will be running, along with half of Oregon’s State Senators.
What will these candidates do to improve Oregon’s unacceptably low high school graduation rate? How will they close the achievement gap and make sure every student is prepared to succeed in today’s tough economy?
Stand for Children PAC will ask candidates the tough questions and work to elect those committed to challenging the status quo and getting better results for kids.
Our 2010 PAC Strategy
This year, we're focusing our PAC dollars on candidates who stand out as champions, and will stand up for kids even when it's difficult. By giving significant contributions to strong candidates, we'll have a big, lasting impact.

About Stand for Children PAC
Founded in 2006, Stand for Children PAC has played an instrumental role in shifting the composition of the legislature over the last two elections. In 2006, Stand members made a difference in four races - including the two that shifted control to a pro-schools majority for the first time in 16 years. In 2008, we defeated two incumbents with weak records on kids and schools and contributed to other races that produce a pro-schools super-majority that protected kids and schools from the worst-case scenarios at the height of the recession.
