Thanks to all of you for calling on the Legislature to protect kids & schools!
We did just what our values call for: we were the change we seek. We came to Salem to support the legislature in making the tough political decisions needed to protect Oregon’s kids and schools.
We showed up. Over 5000 people gathered on the Capitol steps! Members, advocates, parents and children traveled from all over Oregon, from the Gorge to the coast and throughout the Willamette Valley.
We spoke up.Among the speakers at the rally were high school students, parents, legislators and Stand leaders:
We reached out. Our attendance sent a message to our legislators. The resounding call was to invest what we have wisely, smartly utilize reserves and the federal stimulus coming to Oregon, and responsibly raise revenue.
