Stand for Children honors Salem parent and leader Ellen Keithley

+Share

Ellen knows the meaning of leadership. She’s embodied it as the chapter chair in Salem, bringing her passion and critical thinking skills to every campaign, canvassing opportunity and testimony before state and local leaders.

Sometimes, it isn’t an easy task. Just last year, Ellen represented the chapter at a budget hearing, speaking poignantly and honestly about the chapter’s decision to support the Superintendent’s recommended budget reductions.

At our annual Member Summit last week, Oregon Stand recognized the amazing and inspiring work of some of our member leaders like Ellen.

Here’s what she shared with us about why she stands for children:

“I stand for children because they can’t stand for themselves. It’s the power of our voices together that makes a difference for kids.”
